The last time I was in Braga was December 1943, just after the Japs invaded East Timor.

Although Portugal was neutral during the war, I was part of a special envoy to lobby Salazar on the use of their territories in the Azores as bases from which to have a right go at the Japs.

Me and Bugger Noggins were seconded to a 400-strong Dutch-Australian outfit known as Sparrow Force up until February 1943. We were helping to maintain a couple of Gloster Gladiators and four Handley Page Halifax bombers, mostly to do with some webbing.

One night we were out on a black op with local Timorese resistance fighters, setting out from Sura Craic to attack Jap ammunition stores at Welaluhu. Me and Bugger were so backed up on half-fairy and snort that Bugger lost his footing on a slippery bank in the jungle and went over the edge of a ravine.

He was found in 1988 by an obese c**t just outside Fatucahi, he was living in a brilliant den with an
Austronesian woman with mouldy tits and had converted to Catholicism. He was surrounded by at least 39 Ker- Plunks.
