Sacks managers at the drop of a hat. Consistently appoints bad ones (Gullit, Souness). Sanctions ludicrous signings (?7m for Carl Cort?). Is one of the nastiest pieces of work in football. More to do with him than Bellars (unpleasant though Bellamy is).

The ?6m we got for Bellars, if it didn't save our club, allowed it to move in the right direction again. And I'll always be grateful to Bellamy for it - and for the fact that he usually lit up what was an otherwise abysmal team.
