quite abit - they have been going on about three in the Atlantic
the Katrina hurricane hit Florida and then "sat" over the Gulf building up strength from Cat 1 before moving inland. Gees if something is building up to Cat 4 / 5 you move the people from a vunerable area such as New Orleans
