Walking on Sunshine, "by" Katrina and the Waves:

Mate of mine who was in a successful local band yares agew (70s) once supported some singer in quite a big gig.

The singer liked the band (Eyes of Blonde) and offered to finance and produce a single for them, as long as they chose one of HIS songs from a demo tape.

They took the tape and declined, stating that the sound was far too commercial for their band.

The bloke was Eddy Grant. One of the songs was Walking on Sunshine.

(Phil still claims not to regret the decision !).
