Holocaust museums...

Now I know this may sound a little un-PC but I've been to so many Jewish museums which are all totally utterly depressingly only focused on the holocaust. Anne Frank Huis (fair enough), Budapest, Berlin, Graz, Vienna, Poznan, Prague, Rome etc, etc.

Nothing wrong in us all remembering but I found myself leaving these places having learned nothing about the Jewish culture or history of the faith. I really wanted to learn more. Even in Krakow it is ONLY focused on the holocaust. OK, the holocaust has to be a big part lest we ever forget, but I really think a celebration of the culture and a forward looking outlook might not be a bad idea sometimes.

I only once EVER managed to find a Jewish museum celebrating and displaying the history of the Jewish culture which I so wanted to find. Where was it ? Ironically in what is agreed to be the first ever Jewish ghetto - in Venice. I was so chuffed to find it I was in there for hours (and it's not very big)
