Wuzza: how DO you pronounce 'Xavi'?

And why is Xavi Xavi while Xabi Alonso's not Xavi but Xabi when b and v are pronouncified the same? Aren't they both short for Xavier, and if so, why do they have some Xaviers and some Javiers? We don't have James and Xames. Sort it out, you daft c**t.
