I am old enough to remember playing soccer as a kid
in the states with goals with no nets. Of course there were always arguments about whether the ball went inside or outside the post. A simple little technological invention called a net put an end to those arguments and made it a much more enjoyable game. Why some old man would put himself up as a roadblock to improving the game is beyond me. A bigger mystery is why the soccer world puts up with this guy.
