"He's picked Defoe for most of the time he's been in charge"
In World Cup qualifiers (ie not counting friendlies) he has picked Defoe once as a starter (v Andorra - took him off at HT). After that he used him 4 times as a sub (v Kazakhstan x 2, Andorra, Croatia).
