I'm not aware that banging a drum and humming the great escape is ye olde english. I just dislike the fact that some moaning minnie on the BBC says 'ooh my lovely broadcast is being spoilt by these locals making noises'. I've seen quite a few friends of my niece on FB just describing how totally awesome the atmosphere is everywhere - and yes, that includes the vuvuzelas.
