Which last week ? It's a friendly. He is setting up to see his team play in certain

situations and formations. Why would he really care about the result ?

When you're in a practice game, there are times when you would choose or stick to a tactic which might not entirely suit the team you're playing against, just to see how one or two players get on in a particular system.

I might be wrong, but he's adjusted quite a bit before in competitive games.
