But, as mentioned- with the emergence of Swann (who can bat) (and as he's proven, bowl) better than Monty, he's been pushed to the way-side.

A poor county season last year lead to people like Tredwell being bumped up the order ahead of him, hence why it was Tredwell and Swann in Bangladesh earlier in the year on a pitch requiring two spinners. Plus Tredders can bat too.

Yardy is in for the 20/20s because of that batting thing and also because his darts are faaaaaar more economical than Panesar's flighted deliveries.
