why?

it would have been a disgrace if he WAS on the bench given that he wasn't on Saturday because that would mean Sven couldn't decide who was the better keeper. He clearly thinks Kirkland is and is being consistent. Being on the bench isn't some "honour" that everyone is entitled to on a rotation system to keep them happy. It is the person who will come on if your 1st choice gets injured, so it should be the person you think is second best. If Kirkland was considered 2nd best on Saturday why on earth wouldn't he be last night???
