Lovers of bizarre fillums - SET THE VID!!!!

Film4 tonight, 1pm til 3, a Hungarian fillum called Taxidermia.

Perhaps once you've watched it, we could discuss it, in the hope that we could agree exactly WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON????

I've seen it and on Suggs' Eraserhead Scale (where Disaster Movie = 0 and Eraserhead = 100) it rates around 85-90. Described as, if I recall creckly, "a study of how perversions may be passed on across the generations" (or sommat like that) it's a movie in three parts. Part One, Granddad's era, is funny: I found myself trying to work out whether Our Hero was shagging the Platoon's Slaughtered And Cooked Pig while imagining he was shagging the Fat Landlady, or shagging the Fat Landlady and imagining the Cooked Pig.

The second part, Dad's Era, sees Dad winning International Competitive Eating contests while courting the Hungarian Women's Comp Eat champion. That all gets a bit gross, but it's only when Part three (Present Day) comes along that things get properly weird.

I'll leave it there. Worth a watch but dearie me, it's a strange one.
