I think what he's doing makes sense, personally.

Joke Hole was crap on Saturday, whereas SWP was excellent. And Rooney can play just about anywhere (and playing as one of the three in this formation gives him a lot of freedom). Whereas Owen wants to be playing thru the centre. getting in the box.

As long as Owen is fit enough, I think this is just about our best formation at the moment. Against a crap-ish team, anyway.
