That's been said about comedy in general. Usually you find the person funny

because you like the person, and therefore you like what they say and laugh

I don't agree or disagree with that, but there's some obvious truth in it

I agree with you though, he doesn't do anything for me in it. He appears to come accross as someone with a huge chip on his shoulder about the way he looks, and then the writing follows with people reacting to him irrationally, when his intentions in the programme are genuine

The theme of that flows through episodes, but then shifts dramatically the other way, as in, somebody gets offended by what he says, and he'll get really offended and laugh in their face

That specific format, doesn't do anything for me
