I sold a washing machine to some nutter in Watford for ?60
It was 12 years ago when we moved.
He dropped it into his van and sped off. Dropped isn't quite the word. I offered to help him with it using my sack-barrow, but help was refused and he picked it up and threw it into his van.
Next day I received a call from him saying the washing machine had flooded his kitchen. I told him tough and mentioned how he had man-handled it into his van.
30 minutes he later he is at the house with a very hard looking friend demanding his cash back. I called the police who told him to go away and they did pronto, so I assumed they were known to them.
I then started getting threatening phone calls from a ?friend? who saying it was in my interests to do business honourably. I ignored the first call, but when they started in the middle of the night, I decided for the sake on my sanity and safety I should not have sold him a dud washing machine and the whole thing was my mistake.
