Outside of Southampton we probably spent more than anyone in LG 1

On top of Gunns spending spree Lambert bought 3 more players and loaned in 3 more

I don't think any club has had the turnover of players we have had in the last year.
Of the 16 matchday players who played against Charlton 1 year ago only 5 are still at the club.

f you look at Charltons line up, most of their players are still at their club.

What is pleasing is that we have moved away from loaning half our squad to bringing in players who see us as a step up rather than a step down.

We will absolutely need more quality next year but Leicester have proven you can step up and compete without spending a fortune on upgrading the squad.

There is no way Blackpool has a bigger budget than we do but they are in the mix.

As I said I think we are still very much in a building phase.

We will be able to better judge at Christmas where our squad lies in terms of championship quality.

I think anything above mid-table next year will be pretty much a success and relegation an obvious failure.

With Newcastle and WBA out of the division thats a lot of quality we don't have to play.
Portsmouth will sell anything that not nailed down as will Hull.
Burnley wont spend any money.

To be honest, next season might be our best shot at getting back in the Prem for a while but I just don't think we are quite ready yet.

I hope Lambert proves me wrong once again.
