What Now? My tuppence worth... (apologies it's long)

Outs:
Green. The fact that to quote Roy Waller, all the players walked past with heads down until Rob Green *came back* to give an interview, added to the way he choked up talking about what a great club and fans this is, says to me he knows that if he's going to get a ticket to the World Cup, he'll have to leave us. I hope I'm wrong there, but that was my feeling during his interview.
Francis. Pleeeeeeeaaaassse can someone offer a decent fee for him? A good player on his day, as we saw, but he's far to inconsistent/lazy and we do need to have players who have the potential to step up if we want to challenge next year.
Helveg: can't see him wanting to stay. Would be pleased if he did though as I'm sure he'd do well. However, he's not getting younger and he might only have the one season left.

Will Stay:
Holt. We're just to thin in midfield for Worthy to let him go. Not going to get into his apparent decline, but we simply don't have the cash to buy 4 new central midfielders so we'll almost certainly keep him as backup at the very least.

Should Stay:
Doherty. Remember when we signed Malky? How many of us thought he'd last more than 5 minutes after his first season with us? I feel that, given he's still 24/25 and internationally experienced, we have a player who, given the right help could do as well or better than Malky. Give him some playing time in the Championship, I say. Imagine a settled Doherty-Shackell partnership with a telepathic bond like Malky and Flem had last year.

We need:
Central midfielders. We have Safri and....

Francis we should get rid of. Holt should be backup.
I think Koumas might be good alongside Safri, but could we afford? Sidwell has been mentioned and I'd be pleased if we got him. I reckon we need 2, maybe 3 central midfielders.

Backup right back. A youngster who can step in when the incumbent, be he Helveg or Eddy, is too old to be first choice.

An out-and-out winger. Will Jonson come good? Maybe, but he's getting on anyway.

Possible line up next year?
