am remembering more - they have solar panels on roof I think. But what they definitely have is pipes running thru the walls etc, and from outside, that cross over in the loft. When that happens, the heat is taken out of the air that's about to be released outside, and is put back into the fresh air that's been drawn in, and is then recirculated through the house.

So they get a constant flow of new air coming in, but it has heat put back into it from the air going out, so you need much less heating.

They love it. But as I way, I imagine cost lots to install.
