Nasie, this is all your fault
I see we're even more of a shambles than when I left! I wonder what else will go wrong on Saturday...
It must be getting to be squeaky bum time in the manager's seat - if we don't beat Plymouth, I can't see us beating Watford, the Scum, or Reading either, and at that point we are very heavily in the s**t. The question is whether there is anything to be gained by changing the manager, and at the moment I have moved from the "no" camp to the "maybe" camp.
Leaving aside the question of who we would replace Worthy with, a new manager would still be left with the problem of the central midfield until January, and you simply can't polish a turd.
HOWEVER, surely any manager worth his salt would be able to address three simple, schoolboy problems - movement off the ball, closing down, and crossing. These aren't some mystical pinnacle of the footballing art, they are the absolute basics that I have seen done better by many a Sunday League Post-Pissed football side, but at the moment we seem to be consitutionally incapable of doing.
Never mind the s**te about effort and energy, if we can improve the absolute basics of our game (I remember when we were a PASSING side, not a bunch of low-browed goons humping the ball as far upfield as possible) and provide the sort of half-decent delivery most of your average Saturday hacks are capable of, we will instantly be a better side. And that comes down to the manager and the coaching staff.
