calabria is proper italy. no tourists, no-one speaks english

including the wifes family.

grow their own veg including the best tomatoes in the world, make bread every day, have chickens for meat and eggs.

it is a beautiful area and well worth doing if you can speak a bit of italian. I did a course and can now hold my own, but still rely on the wife to speak most of the time as i'm a lazy git.
