Basically Steve Matchett was a mechanic. He's written two books ( to my knowledge) and they are both f**king cracking if you're into the sport. He was with Bennaton the first year Schu drove for them. Got three books on him as well.
He just really talks about how he got into the game, and all the experiences of working through the night to get everything perfect for Sunday afternoon, and then for it all to f**k up after one lap.
The books are, Life in The Fast Lane, and The Mechanic's tale. Both very different books, but equally absorbing. They are both on my shelf, If you want to borrow.
Another brilliant read is Martin Brundle's 'Working the Wheel'. Read it cover to cover first night I got it, and I'm a s**t reader.
