I understand that when learning a foreign language after a certain age

the knowledge of grammar and vocab is stored in a separate place in the brain to the native language, while those brought up in bi- or multilingual environments from an early age store this information in the same cerebral area.

clearly two very different processes are going on.
Makes you think doesn't it? or perhaps it doesn't, I don't know.
