FAO Suggy

Suggy, you posted :
FAO oh arr, by way of apology
Sorry about the 'wurble wurble', I was just a little irritated and there was no need for it. You do usually raise sensible counter-points, even if they are often so belated as to be almost pointless.

Apols, anyway.

If that is suppose to be an apology I wonder what your "slap in the face" looks like ! No, that looks like a back handed "dig" to me. By the way I'm not here to monitor your posts 24/7 in order to provide an instant response. I post what I like, when I like, its called freedom of speech ! Its interesting to note how some with left wing leanings seem to think its ok for them to express their views but its not ok for others to express differing opinions.

I have watched a fair bit of the US news coverage of the hurricane since the beginning of the week and I think I was the first or one of the first to mention it on this bb earlier this week. What has pi$$ed me off is the various Democratic politicians and Rev Jesse Jackson (a democrat) point scoring. Yet I ask what DID THEY DO before the Hurricane and in the early days after the Hurricane, e.g., the Mayor of New Orleans (NO.) whinged on about the buses but when they ordered the evacuation of NO what DID HE DO to get buses in from other states to help evacuate people ? I find it bizarre to see a large number of NO. school buses in their flooded yard in NO. Were they used to evacuate people prior to the hurricane arriving ? Presumably not as they wouldn't be parked in a flooded area ? I haven't seen or heard of the other Democratic politicians showing leadership by organising relief convoys etc.

You stated : 'Oh Arr - "it was written by a democrat". Oh well, it must be rubbish then'
How good of you to omit the rest of my post that referred to the comment by the Corps of Engineers who build the levees and the point scoring by the Democrats.

written by a democrat, the Corps of Engineers interviewed on CNN if I remember correctly said that overall flood defence funding has remained level. As to be expected the Democrats are out in force point scoring.

As for the levees the funding issue goes back decades (to the 1960's). Why didn't Democrat President Clinton do something about it ? Why didn't the Democrat Mayor of New Orleans increase his taxes ? Why didn't the Governor of Louisiana increase taxes ?

So, Suggy, don't blame me for bursting the Democrat bullsh*t
