Two problems with that
1. Can we ever compete financially? If not then we'll have some bad seasons a la 04/05 and, if lucky, a few scrabbling around in the lower reaches of the Prem or upper reaches of the Championship. There wont be too many like this season. 15-20 years ago we could compete - not entirely; but we went close a few times as did other similar sized clubs (Forest in particular)
2. The debt driven nature of football finances is likely to have consequences for the whole of football if (when?) it unravels (and there'll be no taxpayer bailout like with the banks). Imagine if one of the big boys buys, say, Martin for silly money to be repaid over a few seasons. Then goes bust. There goes a (possibly significant) portion of our cashflow...
I don't remember the Forest - Grasshoppers game; but I do remember the Forest - Malmo (!!) final. It was indeed s**t.
