Well...
People have ad-blockers because they hate ads! They hate them churning away distracting from the content, taking up screen space and consuming CPU and graphics resources. Sometimes the site serving the ads even stops the page loading. And don't get me started on pop up/under ads.
Provided ads are discrete and I find the site useful enough, I'd consider whitelisting or even subscribing.

- how do you know if they're discrete if you've got them blocked by default? (General Chat) - Ralf Scrampton, Mar 17, 18:49:33
- Good point; I don't unless someone tells me so or they slip through the net (General Chat) - BerlinCanary, Mar 17, 18:56:52
