its actually the most justifiable argument

i go out onto the farm, shoot pheasants, pigeons rabbits etc etc and eat them. it costs me 20pence (the cost of the cartridge) per animal.

the animal has a good life, is free to roam the farm that we have conservation ground on and look after.

or

i can go to tescos, buy a chicken that has been reared in a small shed with 14,000 other chickens, force fed high protein meal pellets and is so fat it cannot walk away from the food trough and I pay about ?5 for an animal

so i chose the cheaper and more morrally correct method of getting most of my meat.

i lived the whole of febraury without buying anything from a superstore/shop, just used things i could obtain off the farm
