If only Germany hadn't invaded Poland

History is littered with if's buts and maybes, let alone a football club.

What if we had kept Gunn a further month?
What if Alnwick hadn't got injured by Spillane v Sunderland?
What if Nelson hadn't got injured at MK Dons (which brought Doc back into the mould)?
What if Otsemebor had knocked that ball out for a throw against Colchester at 0-0 instead of playing a ridiculous ball back to Theo?
What if Korey Smith hadn't got injured in the summer (he was only firstly available for selection for Lambert's first game v Wycombe).
What if Chase had opened the purse strings in 1994 (Walker) and 1995 (O'Neill)?
What if Chase hadn't appointed John Deehan?
What if we hadn't ended up in this god foresaken division in the first place?
What if Ashton's 'goal' against Fulham at 0-0 in May 2005 had stood? Would we have gone on to win and stay up?

I'm rambling and don't know where I'm going with this, but hopefully you get my point.

But yes, you are quite right.
