Most of these are shallow water rigs, one company Apache lost 8 rigs in the storm. Waves were reported from one of our waverider buoys in excess of 100 feet. My compnay has been relatively lucky withsome major structural damage and a few 100 tonne cranes just missing off the platforms ! We have two rigs 'adrift' which we are trying to get back under control
A chemical plant has just blown up in the last hour and this has created even more problems with sulphuir fumes adding to the pollution.
