FAO Schteve or other mobile foon penmen

I have been charged with a load of those Premium texts.I have phoned the number given to me by o2 and it was some Winwin company, presumably those daft competitions that are spammed to mobiles. I de-activated it so, hopefully, it won't happen again.

The weird thing is, I have never recieved any texts from said number (88818). According to o2 I have recieved 3 today but definately haven't.
How can I be charged for them if I've never recieved tham?
