Looks to me as if someone at HQ typed up the announcement sms in readiness for the deal being done, and put an X in until they knew the length of the contract - and then accidently pulled the "send to AB" lever (in my imagination they have a "Send To AB" level on the wall, probably in McNally's office) by mistake.

I can't ever remember getting an OFFICIAL SMS that early in the day. Earliest I can remember was when they announced the signing of Jonson (could be Helveg, I might be getting my scandos all in a muddle) - I remember I was in the car on my way to work.
