Yesterday's inactivity
has done more than just condemn us to another season in this league, it means Ashton will almost certainly leave in January and for probably not a lot more than we paid for him.
I could have put money on Worthy failing to make a decent signing before the deadline yesterday, just as he has failed so many times before.
I don't think you can put the blame entirely on Worthington. Yes, the buck always stops with the manager but there has been an air of complacency at the club ever since we got relegated. I honestly believe they thought it would be easier down here than it has actually turned out to be.
You can't knock the fans for having deluded dreams (thats our job) but for the Board to sit idly by whilst Worthy fiddled is unforgiveable.
The squad is too small and does not have enough quality in the right places. Now that the deadline has passed, any short term loan will be just papering over the cracks and will be more about keeping us out of trouble than any serious promotion push.
