I know on the Xbox 360, you can now also have sky through it, so if you didn't want the hassle of having a sky dish put up, you could do it that way.
You pay a monthly fee for that though.
If not, you can stream movies to your xbox (i'm sure the price is around ?4 per movie) but can't remember exactly off the top of my head.
They have loads of movies, and all the latest ones.
Not sure about the PS3, as I haven't got one.
I remember the gadget show done a whole segment about VOD, i'll see if I can find the link for it.
