Yes - that was an option
From what little I've seen of McNamee at Watford (twice) where he played out wide, and for Swindon where he played in the "Wes" position at Carrow Road, and came on as a sub on the wing in the JPT, I'd say he is better out wide, so maybe that was the reason.
