JUST SPOKEN TO ROGER MUMBY

I have just had a long conversation with Roger Mumby on the phone. I rang him to thank him for coming out to face the fans last night after the game. I takes a real man to do that and I feel proud that our chairman has the balls to do it.

I spoke to Roger last night for a short while at the back of the away stand. Some others I know also spoke to him moments before me. They and I told him that the results and performances are unacceptable and left him in no doubt of our feelings and in turn his feelings of where the club is at. I also must say that there was NO abuse of any kind directed at Roger from any of us as was hinted to the radio today although we were obviously keen to get our thoughts accross.

One key issue that Roger agreed with us on was team selection and most notably Darren Huckerby should be played on the left wing.

Roger asked me a few moments ago on the phone what the fans thought and I have told him to check the website, which he will do today. I told him that I have always backed Worthy until now and was glad I did not have his job. He then told me that any criticism of the manager also has to be a criticism of the board, and he would not shirk the task that lies ahead.

I thanked him on behalf of West Norfolk Canaries for having the time to speak to us both last night and today and I would also like to do that publicly now. I think we have a very good chairman and board and whatever people think of the manager, I would not change this board for anyone.
