it should access them off of your USB hard drive, but yes, sadly you do need to have your
PC switched on and the Squeezbox server software running - though you will be able to access internet radio/LastFM & similar while your PC is turned off. i *think* there is provided somewhere you can upload your music online and it'll then play it from there, but i get the feeling you might have to pay for that - or the storage size is on the small side for the free version
(i did think you were taking the piss when you said you were interested as you'd linked to the picture of the musical instrument again - certainly not too many buttons for you! :-))
