A mate of mine has just broken into writing comedy for BBC R4

...having done his time at festivals, stand ups, BBC R7 etc...apparently Channel 4 is the place to go these days.

There's a bloke - don't remember his name - is a real gatekeeper for BBC comedy on the TV, he's been there for quite a few years and he's the bloke you have to get any new shows through. Personally, I'd take him down for Gavin and Stacey, although he's responsible for an extremely long list of extremely unfunny BBC comedies over the years that's about to be joined by The Big Top....
