On Scrimmage last night
Bill Punton recounted how, before the 1959 Man U cup game, Macauley got the groundsman to clear the wings of the pitch of snow, so that they got frozen, then somebody or other came and filed down the players' leather studs until a little bit of nail was exposed. Thus, the Man U players were sliding about like Bambi, while our boys stayed upright. I bloody loved that story.
