If so, then you're saying that synagogues work like private banks. I didn't realise that this was the case. It can hardly be legal, and therefore I wonder how the jewish millionaires make sure they have any sort of contractual insurance for such investments.

In a way it's no different to Christians giving a tenth of their earnings to the church and then being able to have free bread and wine on a Sunday morning...
