...but I (and I expect many others) wasn't aware that 'afro-caribbean' wasn't an acceptable abbrieviation of 'african-caribbean', as I was sure it was in common use. Perhaps it's a wider misinterpretation. Afro isn't solely a term for a hair style after all. There's 'afro-centric' not 'african-centric' so why not 'afro-carribbean'?
