I'm gonna guess with the placings at the time

That ITV went to show Man Utd games. Sky went to show Arsenal ones, and BBC showed Villa, leaving us with non interest from the tv against Vitesse

Then when Villa went out, and we'd won, it left the bbc to take our games cos the other stations had their team to show

This is why I think it was left late in the day for sky to show our game. I get the feeling they were given a cheap price by German tv, and took the option to show it late in the day
