It's worth bearing in mind

that a proportion of those who come a-knocking aren't all that thrilled about doing it, but the (um) 'rules' of the church do insist on adherents to the faith doing their duty, by spreading the word. You can usually tell when you make eye contact : it's true, some of them are a little more insistent than others. In these cases I ask them not to force me to become rude.

True, I do think this 'ministry' as it's called is an unwarranted intrusion on the visited people, and yes, I also think their faith [1], well, for want of a better word, barmy. But then, I am at a loss to explain the popularity of the tory party, too, and I'm not sure which is the greater irritant. :o)

Thing is, it's your front door they're standing at, it's up to you how you handle it..... I'd hope that nobody'd be too aggressive if there are chillun standing there, though: they *definitely* would rather be elsewhere.
