McNally and Lambert are the good things that have come out of all this

but boy have they a lot of work to do.

I also think that we might be starting to see the turnaround in the academy (probably reaping the post-Morgan years now) - and we are at a level where at least some involvement of these lads is possible, whereas even a division up and they'd not have the chance to blood. I actually think this has something to do with Charlton - they let some of their youngsters loose last season knowing that they were already down so that they're now playing as a unit - and backed by a few shrewder heads as well.

But most of this to me still comes down to not acting after the relegation. Thank goodness McNally did sooner rather than later.

If we can keep Hughes fit, and find that pace that Lambert clearly wants to support Holt (and as you know I'm not a Wes fan so I don't think he's the answer) - then things might brighten up a bit. It sounds to me that Doc was on a higher wage than Wes which might explain the olive branch a bit more than his innate skill.
