Why the mystery the reason was simple

Gunn?s sacking was far from strange, in fact almost predictable. Gunn was given the job by Delia during the summer before the new chief exec was appointed. The new chief exec has looked at the club simply from a business prospective, the first thing being to review his management team and its glaringly obvious that in Gunn we had the least experienced manager of any of the teams in division one. Bear in mind, and to be blunt, this guy is not a Norwich fan and so all the emotional baggage about Gunn being a club legend carries no sway with him, he?s just there to do a job and achieve the targets the board has set him which hopefully is promotion back to the Championship in the next couple of seasons.

So he waits his time as he knows he has to be sensitive to the majority shareholders and fans and so he can?t sack Gunn immediately but as luck would have it Gunn provides him with the perfect opportunity with the Colchester result. What I like about what happened is that undoubtedly with the following 4-0 win in the league cup Delia would have been saying to give Gunn another chance but the new guy I suspect forced the issue and showed the ruthlessness and strength that undoubtedly we have been missing for a number of seasons while Doomcaster and the old board were in charge.
