You don't need the command prompt.

Just go Start -> Run.
In the box type 'msconfig' and press Enter.

Look for the start up tab.

Anything that's not obviously needed (ItunesHelper, Acrobat updater, Java updater etc) Turn them off.

Anything you don't know, check at User Posted Link

When finished, hit Apply, and restart your PC.
