Mrs Wynn-Jones has been making throwaway, contradictory statements at supporters' gatherings, or in the media for years. If reports of what was said last Monday are correct then she continues to do that. The statement on the official website carries weight.

It is my belief that there is unlikely to be any buyer on those terms. We are therefore stuck with Mr & Mrs Wynn-Jones. What I hope is that the club will now be run properly - with Messrs Bowkett and Phillips performing the functions of non-executive directors and Mr McNally running the club competently. For what it's worth I think the events of the last few days are encouraging.

But the rot has to be stopped this season - by which I mean we finish fifth from bottom or better and create a base on which to build. If we go down again then I think it's probably the end.
