McNally is duty-bound to present a bland summation of what I imagine will have been some fairly intense discussions if not arguments that probably began the moment he and the new Board came in.

Results over 7 months? That is an easy way for him to paraphrase the situation. More likely, the pressure on Delia and MWJ intensified as the season drew closer and the colchester result gave McNally, Bowker et al all the ammo they needed to fire the gun(n).
