McNally is simply clearing up the mess left for him by Delia, Doncaster etc.

Appointing Gunn was cretinous, retaining him was heinous. His departure is clearly the best thing for the club and the Colchester performance proved beyond all doubt that he is completely out of his depth. No susbtitutions until the hour mark? Christ on a bike - taking inflexible pride to new levels there, 'ledge'.

So what does McNally do? He decides to get rid at the earliest opportunity. Bad timing? In one respect yes - but in another, it's the best possible timing - ie as soon as f**king possible.
