which is to try and maximise the amount the club has to spend on players. I would have felt it remiss of them if they hadn't. All they did was point out that the less people who claimed the rebate the more money they would have to spend on the team and that claiming it would leave them less to spend. That is pretty obviously a siomple truth but some people (possibly those who like to regard themselves as super-duper loyal fans) I suspect didn't like to be reminded of the fact.

PS I claimed mine but then you won't find me complaining about the amount of money we spend on the players - I think we've clearly spent too much (albeit not very effectively!) on players in recent seasons.
