Words cannot describe it
Everything's already been said. Just that if you thought Fulham was bad, you then had Charlton to show that things can get worse. And just when you think there's a potential bright new dawn, we instead enter the twilight zone of a record home defeat.
My only sensible summary is that the 'big and ugly' approach may have been okay pre-season when opposing teams were playing passing football and therefore thwarted, but when we actually played a 'big and ugly' opponent it all went bosoms upward. Watching Colchester run through us reminded me of some terrible playground British Bulldog. Or a school football match of the good players against the wusses who ran away when the ball came near them.
I exclude Cody from this. The bright spark from last season continues to shine.
